Delicious Mother's Day Lunch
The Valley Hotel Bishopston的点评
点评：Visited The Valley Hotel in Bishopston yesterday on Mother’s Day with my husband. We chose to eat here mainly for convenience as we were there that afternoon, but we were so glad we did.
The food was outstanding. There was a choice of roasts including lamb, beef, chicken and a vegetarian option. We both chose the Welsh lamb and it was absolutely delicious – perfectly cooked and beautifully pink, with just the right amount of fat for our taste. In our opinion the fat adds flavour and keeps the meat wonderfully moist.
The roast came with a Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, roast parsnip and a side of vegetables. Everything was piping hot and the portions were very generous. The gravy was rich and really brought everything together.
Despite it being Mother’s Day and clearly very busy, the service was excellent. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, even taking the time to ask our names and remembering them, which was a lovely personal touch.
There’s a really nice atmosphere in the dining area too – comfortable seating, plenty of space between tables and it didn’t feel crowded at all.
We were actually there because we were playing at the live music session in The Forge at The Valley, which hosts live music and open mic slots on Sunday afternoons. It’s a great little venue and adds to the relaxed, family- friendly atmosphere of the place.
We would definitely visit again – although next time we’ll make sure we’re not playing a gig afterwards, because after such a satisfying meal all I really wanted was a lie down! If you enjoy a proper Sunday roast with generous portions and friendly service, this is well worth a visit.
