BE AWARE OF THE 'ONE YEAR PASS' OFFER

点评：Following a call with the office at Berkeley Castle earlier I need to advise all potential guests around the restrictions with their '1 year pass' offer.
We visited last month with friends visiting from Yorkshire who kindly paid for the 4 adult tickets before handing over the '1 year pass' card for my husband & I to use as we are local (25 mins). We had an interesting visit & agreed it would be a great place to visit with the younger members of our family (under 7) to enjoy the outside space.
However on calling the office this morning & initially speaking to a very lovely gentlemen who was very positive towards my enquiry, I was subsequently advised by a female colleague that our pass was not transferable.
I asked why this was the case she said 'due to gift aid', so when I asked why this was not explained at the point of purchase (as I could so easily have paid instead) , especially when our friends postcode (which is taken) was very clearly not local, I was told there wasn't time to advise guests!!
This does a huge injustice to the very lovely gentleman who had been on the ticket desk & who had been extremely helpful & talkative.
I asked then why was there no signage but received no constructive response. Her suggestion was we visited again & paid the entrance fee which would allow us to receive a 1 year pass!!
So sadly rather than returning & spending money in the café etc we will stay away.
