点评:We paid full price to visit the house & estate. However, one third of the house was closed to visitors due to lack of volunteers. Lots of visitors were unhappy about this. It is wrong to charge full price then not give customers the full offering. The Trust needs a national/standard policy on this, with an agreed rebate to visitors in such circumstances or a free café token for members. The historical interpretation in the hall was poor to the point of inaccuracy (much as it is at Wallington). The smell of sewage on the main path up to the house was very off putting. The uneven grass immediately outside of the back of the house, where a formal flower garden has been removed& badly grassed over, is so uneven as to be dangerous. The farm interpretation was sparse and had room to include a few lines about climate change and veganism. The walled garden was outstanding and very well worth the visit...the gardener must be complimented. The site has so much to offer & is worth seeing but the effort made to show it to advantage is poor.
