点评:All who enjoy the natural beauty and cultural sites on the island should take the time to understand the people who made Ireland what it is today. Cashel Folk Village serves as a great jumping off point or a place to dive even deeper into critical Irish history.
Bernard (the current curator and son-in-law of the museum's founder) provides tours, introducing relevant information about exhibits then allowing guests to browse independently and come to him with questions. He grew up next to the Rock of Cashel, and his passion for teaching and preserving the area's history is evident. The museum has saved many artifacts including a Tinkers/Travellers Caravan, a previously defaced statue of IRA leader Sean Russel, the original Croke Memorial Market Cross, and metal implements from the Cashel Workhouse.
Admission costs €8 for most adults. There were only two other guests when I visited the museum which I found to be peaceful and sensory-friendly. There are many chairs in the central Easter Rising Memorial Garden to stop and rest on. The exhibits are distributed across the ground floors of multiple small historic buildings and outdoor spaces, all within what I'd guess is an area of ≈ 600 m².
