Introduction to Daniel O’Connell
Derrynane House的点评
点评：The Derrynane House was one of our stops on the Ring of Kerry Drive.
Admission was free with our Heritage Card and staff were very friendly and helpful.
We did a self tour of the house and every room contained some artifact from Daniel O’Connell or his family. Good signage and information throughout.
A short movie about Daniel O’Connell was very good and helped provide a lot of context of how he contributed to Ireland. Together with the rest of the house was extremely useful as we came across more references to Daniel O’Connell during our extended stay in Ireland.
Don’t miss seeing the triumphant chariot that he rode on after being released from prison. It was on display near the cafe and quite a sight to see.
Unfortunately as we left the house the rains picked up so we did not get to wander around the expansive gardens or go down to the beach. All of this was part of the 100 plus acre estate grounds
