点评:Great pool and my 6-year-old son absolutely loved it. The only thing that really lets the place down is the frankly bizarre locker system.
You have to pay 25p for a single-use token to access your locker. I can understand charging 25p to use a locker, but what I don’t understand is why that apparently means you only get one opportunity to access your own belongings.
During our session, my son’s goggles came off and I wanted to get our towel from the locker to dry them. I asked a member of staff if I could get another token, only to be told that I would have to get myself and my son completely dried and dressed, leave the pool, go to the main reception and buy another 25p token — then get changed again and go back into the pool.
So, just to clarify how ridiculous this is: your child needs their inhaler from your bag? That’s another 25p. Want to get a drink from your own bag? Another 25p. Need to get your towel? Another 25p. Want to check the time because, coincidentally, the clock in the pool wasn’t working? Yep — better get dried, dressed, leave the pool, pay your 25p and start the whole process again.
And it’s not even the 25p that bothers me. It’s the sheer madness of having to pay every time you need access to your own belongings, followed by the ridiculous process of getting completely dressed and going back to reception each time.
Surely the obvious solution would be for staff to have access to a supply of free additional tokens that they can give to customers when there is a genuine need to access their locker again during the same session. That would cost virtually nothing, would be far more customer-friendly and, most importantly, would save parents having to dry and dress their children simply because they need to retrieve something from a bag.
It’s a great pool, but the locker system is unnecessarily restrictive and feels like a silly solution to a problem that doesn’t exist.
