Buckmore Park的点评
点评：I haven't been karting since I was a child and this was great fun. Buckmore Park is just off the A2 Chatham turnoff on the south side of the A2. It's in a little valley at the end of a smallish road but we found it in the end. There is a car park for about 30 cars I would say. The place has some good history with F1 aces Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button starting here as juniors. And let me tell you it is real racing. Once you arrive you sign in and get kitted out with overalls, helmet and gloves so you look like a racer. There are lockers for your coats and phones - you don't want your phone falling out onto the track, trust me. You have a good, professional safety briefing upstairs and then get led to the karts. The staff make sure that you're comfortable and can steer them. You then get a leisurely drive round the track in single file with a marshal leading before suddenly its green lights and racing on! I was quite slow at first but that's not a big deal. Some of the karts were flying past me - the top guy did 39MPH! My best was 32 but my god it feels so fast. Probably about two thirds of the way through the session I understood how responsive the karts were and I started to drive like a racer! I was still overtaken by the regulars but it was exhilarating stuff and by the end I was flying round the track. It was freezing cold (5.30pm) but when we had to slow down to finish I just wanted to keep on going. It was a truly amazing experience. The session lasted 30 minutes and we had 16 people in the group so it was a busy track but we were never cramped. There is an electronic leader board with your name, position, fastest lap etc and these results are also emailed to you afterwards. We finally handed our kit back and then spent some time in the little coffee shop on the ground floor warming up and watching the various videos and photos that were taken. I would say that a really good day would be coming here for racing first during the day and then heading off to Rochester City centre or Chatham Dockyard for the afternoon. I should add that the staff were friendly, organised, professional and made you feel safe - even though you get a warning that motorsport is dangerous! I can't comment on the price as it was organised for a friends birthday but with racers galore it must be worth it. So, a fabulous place, really exciting and definitely worth a visit. I will be returning to improve!
