点评:A lovely place to visit on a dry, sunny day. The gardens are wonderful to explore and they are a place to switch off and unwind. We took my 7 year old granddaughter and she loved the Easter trail and fairy houses. The play equipment, bridges and small huts are ideal to entertain children. We found the cafe very nice with a good selection of sandwiches, cakes and drinks.
My only criticism is the pricing approach. On the website, it states that as a charity, entrance is via a donation but clearly a payment of £10 per adult is expected on the gate. This is not ok. Some lower income families/retirees, cannot afford £10 per adult and £5 per child. I appreciate that the volunteers on the gate do an important job but their reaction when we had booked online for a smaller voluntary donation, as is one of the options (and what we could afford) made us feel uncomfortable.
Visiting the gardens is probably an hour/ an hour and a half at the most, so £30 for a family of 4, in my opinion is excessive.
