Hurst Castle的点评
点评：Visted yesterday (30th Oct 2024) with my grandchildren.
We had a short wait of around 20 mins for the ferry over, which was very pleasant and we were watching various species of sea birds, including Egrets along the banks of the shore.
Parts of the castle were closed off due to renovations being carried out, but there was still plenty to explore.
I would have liked to have seen more handrails on the very steep and wet concrete steps. Without handrails, and I being of retirement age I could not risk going down into the tunnels or up on the top of the walls, which was disappointing.
There wasn't much food available in the cafe, which I guess was down to the number of people visiting. They had lots of yummy cakes, which the children enjoyed.
A fairly long wait of around 50 mins for the ferry back to the car park, but that was due to large numbers of people, many of which had walked across the spit to the castle and took the ferry back.
Overall we had a lovely time, and although the day was overcast it wasn't cold and the views were great.
Guys on the ferry were friendly and pointed out a seal and various birds along the route.
We shall definitely go back in the summer, as I'm sure the views will be spectacular in better weather.
Please do consider putting in handrails, even if made of rope. Thanks 😀
