Disappointing Facilities Despite a Lovely Location

点评：Hurst Castle itself is a lovely place to visit, full of history with plenty to see and do—even for little ones. However, visitors should be aware that a dog seems to have free rein of the site, and the grounds were unfortunately littered with dog mess during our visit.
The ferry across was a real highlight, but the on-site café was very understocked. There was no water available and the only food options were crisps and a few cakes, which was disappointing.
The toilets are extremely basic. As the castle advertises itself as family-friendly, we assumed there would be appropriate baby-changing facilities. We were visiting with a 24-month-old and a 4-year-old who wears nappies due to medical issues, but we couldn’t locate any facilities. When we asked at the gate, we were told one existed, but were also told that the attraction “doesn’t advertise being family friendly”—which contradicts the website, where they do state that families are welcome, even if paths may be unsuitable for prams.
We then had to wait around 15 minutes while the staff member took a personal call before showing us to the changing area. We had expected at worst a staff room or office. Instead, it was a dim, dusty storage space with a mat on a rickety stand, next to boxes of bottles, old paint, power tools, saws, and a concrete floor. It felt unsafe to even stand in. Ordinarily, we would have changed the children outside on a jumper, but due to the dog mess everywhere—and being told we couldn’t change them on a bench inside—we had no reasonable option.
Unfortunately, the lack of suitable facilities and the poor customer service overshadowed what could have been a lovely day out. I tried to contact their office afterwards to give feedback, but have received no response.

很遗憾，缺乏合适的设施和糟糕的客户服务毁了原本可能很美好的一天。事后我尝试联系他们的办公室反馈意见，但一直没有收到回复。
