Fascinating entanglement of historical items

点评：First of all, prepare to be blown away by the crazy number of items on display in this museum. It is as if everything usually kept away in the archives has been left here for show and it can be a bit overwhelming. Each floor is tightly packed with items featuring a huge range of different cultures, continents and timelines, and upstairs it is more of the same, each cabinet filled to the brim with items so much so it can be hard to find what you are looking for.
This museum is in the news fairly regularly for postconial reasons and its troubled history of collections, which it has attempted to address. There was a curtained off area for its human remains which we did not visit and a wall on discussing the colonial legacies of the museum - though it can be a bit hard to spot given just how much there is. Somehow they also found space to cram in a gift shop amongst all of this stuff, it is pretty incredible in that sense!
