An unusual but very interesting museum!

点评：Pitt Rivers Museum is one of the most unusual museums in Oxford. It contains the archaeological and anthropological collections of the university and it was originally founded in the 1880s by the British Army officer Augustus Pitt Rivers, who donated his private collection.
The museum is characterised by the extraordinary diversity of the items on display, which range from libation sticks from Russia and Japan and fishing boat models from around the world to a carved Maori figure and Mesoamerican grinding stones for food preparation. Other items of interest include the robe of the Native American warrior Many Shots, a stone axe from Papua New Guinea, and Burmese neck rings. Perhaps the most spectacular object, however, is the Haida totem pole.
The Pitt Rivers Museum is definitely worth checking out and you can easily combine a visit here with a trip to nearby Keble College, which is notable for its neo-gothic red brick buildings.
