点评：First visit to Wallingford Hall and we decided to make the detour on a hospital visit to the North East.
Arriving from Hexham end, we barely saw another car on the empty Northumberland roads off the main road from Hexham to Wallington.
It was actually pretty weird. This place is only about 20 miles from Newcastle but feels quite remote.
The building itself looks small from the outside and a bit dull but inside there is so much to uncover, explore, discover and wonder at.
The central atrium style square with balconies was unexpected and opened the hall out somewhat and added light and dimension. It was italian style.
There are not that many rooms to look at but it feels as if there is, if this makes sense?
We spent much longer in here than we usually do at many NT properties.
Lovely grounds to walk around and the walled garden too.
Nice spacious courtyard with shop and cafe and toilets.
One of the more different properties inside that the NT has that I have visited and very much recommend a visit.
Staff and volunteers all very helpful and friendly and not intrusive at all.
