点评:This place is amazing! First of all- It’s not a zoo. Its a sanctuary for rescued Brown bears (Grizzly bears). After reading some of the reviews I think some folks thought it would be more of a zoo, maybe?
You are able to safely stand just feet away from one of nature’s most magnificent creatures and watch them walk around, play in the water, and know what it feels like to have a Grizzly look you in the eye. It’s an experience like no other and I can’t encourage folks enough to take a couple hours and go out there and sit and watch the bears. The bears wander as they want to- no prompting from anyone, so you get to see the bear just do bear stuff- no tricks or behaviors forced for the public.
The folks that work there are energetic, knowledgable, and eager to share the bears’ stories with us. They have an almost 45 minute long “Bear 101” talk where they come out between the different bears and talk about how the bears arrived there, share the bears’ temperaments and likes and dislikes- and give excellent advice on how to travel in bear country as safely as possible. The bears are happy, healthy, and blessed to have this place as their home. These folks truly are wholly invested in the bears and it shows. We promised Max we would be back to say hello again😊.
