an interesting way to see a big bear safely up close

点评：We saw this on a billboard on the highway and decided to stop in.
We really didn't know what to expect. Some of these places just have a few sad old bears sitting in a corner, some are drive through experiences, and some are just small zoos.
The host explained that there is only one bear in the area at a time because they don't play well together. We got to see Max who is the largest bear in Montana. He was HUGE. He had a rather large and nice enclosure with lots of toys and a pond to cool off.
They had staff members who gave a short presentation about bear safety and how the bears came to be here.
While the bear seemed accustomed to people this isn't a circus show or anything. They did toss in a watermelon which he seemed to enjoy a lot. The bear seemed healthy and active
We ended up staying a little less than an hour.
Overall it was worth the money to see a bear up close.
