Rasa Ria Reserve By Shangri-la的点评
点评：We stayed at the Shangri-La Rasa Ria Hotel and thought we were given free access to this attraction. In a sense, we were — but only to a very small section of the reserve. To see most of it, you need to hire a guide, which is actually necessary for safety reasons since there's wildlife in the area.
Beyond that, there are some free activities for children if you're staying at the hotel. One that caught our family's attention was the stingless bee activity. My wife and kids were intrigued, so we booked it. When we went to pay, the staff member informed us it was actually a free addition to our stay — a pleasant surprise we hadn't expected!
The guides themselves were genuine enthusiasts, clearly passionate about their subjects and wonderful with the children. They showed us the stingless bees in their habitat, explained their mission and care, and the kids even got to touch the bees and drink honey straight from straws — a wild experience! My son wasn't too keen at first, but we tried again a second time and he finally overcame his initial fears.
What really stood out, though, was how friendly and genuinely engaged the staff were with us. When we mentioned our upcoming trip to Sandakan, they gave us such wonderful and invaluable tips — truly above and beyond. Impressed by their sincerity and honesty, we decided to book more activities, including a night scavenger hunt for the kids while we enjoyed an hour's break.
Our children couldn't stop talking about their fascinating experience afterward — the staff were so incredibly kind to them that it left a lasting impression.
I highly recommend this attraction as a must-do if you have children — especially if you're staying at the hotel. The incentives are there: free and relatively inexpensive activities with caring staff who truly make it special for your little ones.
