Gem of a place - important part in Irish history and connected to one of the most famous photographs in the world

点评：Had heard about the Museum over 20 years ago whilst researching my family history and had written to Sister de Lourdes Fahy so took the opportunity of being over in the west of Ireland to pop in and was not disappointed.
Absolute gem of a place and staffed by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteer (sorry didn’t get the name but we were there on the late morning of 1 August 2024) - lots about the Gregory family and the school’s history but also that of Kiltartan/Gort including its link to one of the world’s most famous photographs!
I bought, and am currently reading, Sr de Lourdes Fahy’s excellent book on the history of Kiltartan which has plugged a few gaps in my genealogical research (my great grandfather was born in Glenbrack).
Big thanks to Sister and the volunteers for keeping this important piece of, and insight into, Irish history alive.
