Horrible wi-fi, but a superb stay

点评：We loved our stay here and would happily stay here again. 4 stars rather than 5 because of the horrible wi-fi. Luckily we aren't reliant on wi-fi, but seeing as this is 2025 and most people seem addicted to it, I feel it is worth mentioning. We were able to get a connection in the sitting area next to the library but in our room we had nothing. We didn't try the breakfast room. Those who need wi-fi and don't want to be in a public area to use it may want to book a room elsewhere.
Our room was stunningly beautiful and it was the first time I have experienced a heated bathroom floor. And a towel warmer that actually works! The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. We had a great view of Bantry Bay from our room.
We paid 15 euros each for Julie to give us private tour of Bantry House, her home. She definitely knew her family's history! A fascinating tour.
Breakfast was good - typical Irish B&B fare though the scones were very dry. The eggs and bacon were well-cooked and the serve yourself buffet included cheeses, bread, fruits, yogurt, and granola.
The location is great. You can walk 10 minutes down the lane to a road with restaurants or you can drive as there is plenty of free parking in town.
Our B&B owner in Kinsale was surprised when we said our next stop was in Bantry - she didn't think there was anything to do. Well, we used it as a base to explore the Mizen Head, the Beara Peninsula and the Ilnacullen Gardens. It was perfect for all of that as they are all close by. Also, you are not fighting the traffic of the Ring of Kerry.
