Pendennis Castle的点评
点评：Having visited this particular castle numerous times since being a child myself, I must say I was thoroughly disappointed today.
The castle is a wonderful piece of history and spans such a large period of time with so much intact that it is definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately, in my opinion a lot of the family fun elements have been ripped out of it with the move away from more traditional displays of "how things were".
Nothing really but empty rooms and information boards. With the demise of flambards, I was surprised to see that none of the items from there had been acquired for Pendennis.
Today we visited with my two girls aged 9 and 3 and honestly it was a very dull experience for them. I love the history, but there were no dress up boxes, no "scenes" where I could point out what people wore or how their life was different. No cooking utensils in the kitchen for me to talk about how difficult life might have been trying to lift big pots into the fire. There were no real examples of any period in history for me to point to and pique their interest in. I am reasonably familiar with the history of the castle, but they aren't and it's hard to get them interested in information boards and empty rooms.
