点评:This is a superb museum if interested in industrial heritage. I think if you don't take a guided tour you'll miss a great deal - free with your entry ticket. The guides are ex-miners and add a lot of interesting detail that otherwise you would not know. Q&A is encouraged and informal. Thank you Jim for making the visit so special.
This is a grade A listed site - a building of national or international architectural or historic importance. It may look a little scruffy but it is meant to depict what it would have looked like the day it closed as a working mine in 1981.
I would give your visit around 90 minutes for the guided tour plus at least the same again to look at the two special exhibits covering mining and how it developed over time, including the way miners and families were treated.
