Delightful, high-quality, a little quirky
Mount Felix Vineyard & Winery的点评
点评：We enjoy getting tasting flights at independent vineyards and wineries as we travel, and Mount Felix was on our route. Well, it was quite acceptable as a winery--and a little quirky.
We arrived in the late afternoon, about an hour before the tasting room closes, and were a bit dismayed at a young man who pulled a bag of golf clubs out of his car trunk and carried them toward the tasting room. Is there a golf course nearby?
We entered the tasting room, and opted for their tasting fligt of dry wines. There wines are all blends--their vintner, it seems, enjoys the greater challenge of blending. We're generally more fond of varietals but a good blend can be pleasant. It was a very nice day so we moved onto their patio, which has a distant view of the bay.
The mystery of the duffer was revealed then, since next to the patio there is a two-tee elevated driving range. It was entertaining to watch the young man launching a bucket of balls in the general direction of a pinwhile we appeciated the work of their vintner.
The wines are good. So we bought several bottles to take with us. Of interest, their monogrammed carry bag, which will be joining our collection, is the highest quality one we've ever gotten--insulated! Velcro closure! exterior pockets! Clearly they care about customer satisfaction.
On the way out, we were greeted (or insulted) by a rooster whose pen is behind the privacy fence.
They also operated a bed and breakfast--and considering this visit, I might consider them if we are motoring through Maryland again.
