Magnificent day of Biolea Olive Oil on the Mountain Top

点评：We experienced a magnificent day high on a mountain top at the Biolea Astrikas Estate located about a half hour drive from the touristy area of Chania Town on the island of Crete. We took a private tour of the family owned and operated Biolea Olive Oil fields and production facilities. The owner, Chloe Dimiyriadis, showed and explained the different types of olives growing on the mountain side and how they were picked and delivered to the production line. Chloe took us step by step through Biolea’s artisan production of organic olive oil using millstone and presses and explained in detail how their production method differed from the multinational brands on the market. After the tour we sat at a table for two located in the olive field with a bottle of chilled wine and served a five-course meal, prepared by Chloe’s husband, paired with Biolea olive oil products. As great as the wine and meal were the majestic views from the mountain top of the Sea of Create and the villages below in itself was a perfect day. Since our visit we learned that Biolea Olive Oil is available on Amazon. It’s now our olive oil for life.
