Mishandled new guide training so our visit was a flop!

点评：We didn’t have any specific expectations of our Peller tour but we’ve been to other wineries and have never left disappointed. This time though, Peller did not do itself any favors in their handling of a new guide. To be clear, I do not blame the new guide for the lack of full knowledge of the estate and how to truly pull a tour together to make it exciting.
We paid good money for the three people to visit and we seriously felt let down and that Peller did not put their customers first when putting a new person in charge of the tour. Even with a seasoned person following him along, it was a bad tour which equals a waste of money. Peller needs to be sure that all their guides get fully quizzed on the history, the vineyard, the production, everything! I get it, you need to start somewhere, but only after you’ve shadowed MULTIPLE times and thoroughly know your stuff. It’s not fair to send out the newbie when you charge full price, even if you have the older person, who’s correcting him and answering his questions.
The tour lacked enthusiasm and fun. It turned it to be an in & out adventure, we didn’t even want to buy anything nor walk the grounds after. So disappointing!
And again, not newbies fault, he was thrown to the wolves, all the fault lies with Peller estates and how they train, handle and respect their customers!
