Lincoln State Monument的点评
点评：This exceeded my expectations. It's a well preserved, authentic old west town with many original buildings. Yet it's a very different vibe than a touristy town like Tombstone, Arizona. It's not commercialized or touristy at all, which makes it seem even more authentic. We spent about 3 hours here.
You start at the Anderson Freeman Visitor's Center where you buy your tickets and they give you a map of the buildings you can visit in the town. They're all on the same street of a few blocks. At the Visitor Center they have a museum with a film about the Lincoln County War, which Billy the Kid was involved in. And they have a museum.
Most of the other historic buildings you can go inside and look around. Some have exhibits. The most interesting other two buildings are the Tunstall Store and the Courthouse. The Tunstall Store has products from the period on the shelves, which makes it feel like you've gone back in time to an old west general store. The Courthouse is where Billy the Kid was held in custody until he escaped. They have a lot of information about that incident and other exhibits.
It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
