Lovely Place To Visit By Boat or Car

点评：Whilst spending a few days on the Norfolk Broads we moored the boat at Potter Heigham and hired a day boat from Herbert Woods and it took about an hour up the River Thurne and across Horsey Mere To the Wind Pump. My wife works for the NT so we always try and take in the local NT Properties wherever we are. Firstly there are plenty of moorings available in the Dyke for visiting boats and the Horsey Windpump sits on the Dyke with an adjacent coffee Shop and toilets near by. The staff at the Windpump are very friendly and knowledgeable and you are able to climb the stairs via different levels to the top where you are able to stand on the platform behind the sails and take in the excellent views in every direction. Plenty of local and general knowledge about the Wind Pumps on the Broads on display inside the Wind Pump. Then after that exertion do the visit the coffee shop where they serve very nice Bacon Rolls and the usual coffee and cakes and what a lovely spot to just sit and have a coffee and a Bacon Roll! Unfortunately we had only booked the day boat for 4 hours so did not have time to walk to the Beach but it is well signposted and apparently worth the walk. There is also a large carpark on site so if you arrive by Car there is plenty of space to park. Worth the visit and plenty of fascinating history to digest and its definitely worth the climb to the top for the views!
