点评:We visit Coniston regularly with our preschool/primary aged children. Brantwood is a lovely peaceful spot with interesting history and lots of events, including outdoor theatre, as well as tens of peaceful natural picnic spots and a fab cafe. But the best thing about it is the ‘Go Wild’ / ‘Wild Wednesdays’ provision for children: it’s excellent! A range of ages always seem to attend, you can book ad hoc (perfect for rainy and sunny days alike), and Maria who runs it alongside a fantastically knowledgeable and kind team of nature experts seems to be able to create an inclusive experience for children of all ages (parents stay, by and large, although we sometimes tag team so one of us gets to drink a coffee in peace!). We've come home from our holidays with things such as Easter wreaths for grandma, nature trays, sock bunnies, drawings, clay ornaments, and the children love the interactive stories and singing too. Use of makaton is extra special. I wish Brantwood would advertise it more because we were visiting for years before we found out about it and just tell everyone we know about it now. Highly recommend!
