点评:I have extremely fond memories of Grimes Graves going back decades and decided to buff up my nostalgia gland with a long overdue revisit. Sadly those happy, nostalgic thoughts were utterly tarnished by a thoughtless, lazy and rude staff member who made our visit cold and unpleasant. The staff member (sporting a bored North American accent) clearly demonstrated some development needs on her commitment to history, archaeology and especially customer service. Presumably she was actually interviewed for the job at some stage and if she showed the same qualities to the interviewer she demonstrated to us, all I can say is 'wow'. Perhaps English Heritage needs to revisit its hiring procedures. I have never felt so deflated and, afterwards, angry about how I've been treated at an historic site (many of which are run by the (usually) superb English Heritage). Disappointed isn't the word. When the aforementioned hired hand wasn't dispensing rudeness in great gloopy globules and spattering the visitors with it she was skulking about round the extremely untidy and unsightly bin area at the back of the tiny visitors hut, sucking moodily at a cigarette and vigorously avoiding eye contact with anyone with 150 yards of her. Thanks for the ruined memory you insensitive clod. I hope you soon find alternative employment elsewhere at a company more suited to your skills. I demur to suggest where.
