点评:For those of you that want more from a visit to a Stately home than wandering around a 'big house' with old furniture in, look no further than this magnificent example of how a Stately home visit should be done. Linda and me are enthusiasts of history and have been to many homes. From the moment you enter the entrance hall you are greeted by very smart, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable guides and boy are they. Our guide was Gill who, quite honestly, if there was a national competition for the best Stately home guide i think she would win. No question from our group of 20 went unanswered. Additional anecdotes, stories, events were added that coloured the house's history perfectly. What prompted our visit was the chance purchase from a charity shop of a book called 'The secret Rooms' by Kathleen Bailey. Read this first if you are planning to go.
Thanks again to Gill, Maria and the others for such an unforgettable visit. Top of our Stately home visits that's for sure. Happy Xmas to you guys and, of course, the Manners family.

再次感谢吉尔、玛丽亚和其他人,让我们度过了一次难忘的庄园之旅。这绝对是我们庄园之旅中最好的一次。祝你们圣诞快乐,当然也祝 Manners 一家圣诞快乐。
