Beautiful Belvoir

点评：The Vale of Belvoir has always been a favourite place of mine, stunning countryside, the most fabulous views and great country pubs all nestled under the imposing eye of Belvoir Castle. Yesterday we had our first walk around the grounds.and they did not disappoint. From the wonderful, aromatic Rose Garden, through the Statue Garden and on , there was something wonderful to look at around every corner, azaleas, fuchsias and an abundance of colour make up these gardens. Ponds and caves are dotted along the route and following the map you are given you can do as much or as little of it as you like . I would advise taking a picnic , weather permitting as there is a seating terrace with views right across the county. You can, however, purchase snacks and drinks from the ticket office . There is quite a steep walk up to the castle itself and a fair few steps here and there, not all of which are steady underfoot so be prepared. If you wanted to make a day of it , you can purchase tickets to look around the castle and if you have young ones there’s a great adventure playground.!Ample parking at the front of Castle ( costs £3) . It was a lovely afternoon and we will go back in the summer when everything is in full bloom .
