点评：The Orangery cafe in Clivedon is dirty, the coffee is cold and the staff are rude. It is a relatively large space but dog walkers have to sit outside even in the winter, in the wind and the rain. A huge number of dog walkers visit the cafe, in the winter the ground is muddy and gritty, in the rain the dogs sit on the muddy clay and get filthy. Today, as there was plenty of space inside, I brought my dog in the very back of the cafe and tied him up while I had my coffee. One of the girls was sent across to tell me dogs weren't allowed inside so I politely said, I know that's fine, I only have 3 sips of coffee left, I'll finish it and go. The manager sent the other member of staff to insist I leave immediately. I repeated I've nearly finished I'll go. The manager himself then came across, a big build, and approached aggressively so the dog, a soft soppy labrador sensed his demeanour and feeling protective of me, started barking and growling at him - he blamed the dog and said it is precisely for that reason we don't allow dogs! He provoked the dog!!! A labrador! Not easily provoked but they read people very well. He was aggressive and rude and people around were shocked. Shame on you national trust you had bad reviews over 2 years ago regarding how dirty the place is and responded with a promise to do something. The floor's so dirty it can't have been cleaned for an age and as for your staff, why are we paying a fee to be treated like that. Most of your faithfuls are dog walkers who love nature and you don't provide anywhere indoors for them to sit, if they do take respite inside, even though their dog is calm and quiet why would you accost them just for a rule about dogs being aggressive when it is your staff that are aggressive, that makes no sense. Most pubs and coffee shops accept dogs - why can't you provide a designated area at least, the space is large enough.
