De Havilland Aircraft Museum的点评
点评：A wonderful little museum, holds the auspicious title of being the first British aeroplane museum. The volunteers, who give their valuable time, knowledge, insights and support are an integral component to a fabulous nugget of joy. The hangars reveal a Mosquito prototype alongside Comet, Vampire, Sea Vixen and many other planes, lovingly rescued and restored by a skilled team. The volunteers are friendly and willing to impart their extensive knowledge, demonstrate the workings of a Merlin engine, discuss facts and information at length.
We had such a great day and will be returning soon to glean further information because one visit is definitely not long enough.
Most exhibits are accessible, there are plenty of toilets sited in different places. There’s a cafe selling various refreshments and light snacks, plenty of free parking, the little shop has a variety of souvenirs and there’s a second hand book corner offering a selection of books - technical, fiction, informative, choice is yours! Tickets are £14 for an adult, £8 for a child or £35 for a family. Bring a picnic and sit outside amongst the aircraft, a great day out.
