点评:Visited on Tuesday 8th October 2024. It was a damp and dreary day, so the attraction itself was quiet. The staff were very explanatory and advised that the floors are not even and there is not a great amount of lighting so you do need to tread carefully. The video presentation at the start of "Hairy Jack" is very interesting and full of facts; we really enjoyed hearing how the caves are haunted and were used as air raid shelters during the War from enemy bombing raids. There were a lot of interactive exhibits, for example you could feel how heavy some items being smuggled on to the country were, what they were smuggled on with (being hidden in books and other food), but we really enjoyed the whole lot! The only downside was some areas of the caves have no visibility at all and I tripped a few times (I'm clumsy anyway) but some vague lighting, such as is available in the cave entrance, may have helped.
