点评:A lovely old timber framed house from the 17th century Jacobean era. It houses lots of original furniture as well as replica clothing. The curtains and bedspreads, which were embroidered to a very high standard, were absolutely beautiful. The rooms were set out as they would have been at the time. Built in 1621, and originally a butcher's shop, then went on to become a Lloyds Bank in the 1920's, and has been a museum since 1929. Entrance fee was £4.00 for an adult, and was worth the price, as you could walk around the house at your own pace, and a guide was always on hand if you had any questions, or to tell you about the items around you. The stairs are quite narrow, and some floors were a little uneven, so not suitable for elderly/disabled. Easy to find as it is in the centre of the city, on High Town. You could spend up to 45 minutes here.
