So Happy We Picked Del Richards for Our Dedicated Birding Day

点评：The last full day of our nineteen-day trip to Australia was to be dedicated to birding out of Port Douglas. We found Delwyn Richards online weeks in advance and he was able to accommodate us on this day. His answers to our emailed questions solidified our selection of him over a couple other options. We are so happy that we chose Del. We were assured that there would be at most be two other people sharing the day, which would have been fine, but we were very fortunate to have Del to ourselves. Besides his incredible knowledge of birds and the regional "hot spots" he prepared and operated to maximize the comfort and efficiency of our pursuit of as many bird species as possible. His careful driving and comfortable vehicle made the day a pleasure. His sharp eyes, acute hearing and skillful techniques led to sightings of a vast array of North Queensland's birds. The list he kept track for us noted 80 species by the end of the day. He knew photographing the birds was a top goal for me, and I credit him with helping me gain a collection of images I am very happy with. Del is a very elegant man with an interesting history and a reputation in the birding world that we can see is well deserved. We were certainly lucky to share this precious day with Del.
