incongruity: beautiful beach next to space age rocket launching site

点评：When we went from South Padre Island out to visit SpaceX, Elon Musk's rocket production facility and launch site, we had no idea that there was a beach right next door. We were in awe of the high-tech facilities. We only found out that there was a beach next door as we were driving back from SpaceX towards Brownsville. There is a police checkpoint on the route to Brownsville. I asked the officer why there was a checkpoint (high-tech security concerns?). The officer informed us that the beach next to SpaceX is occasionally used by people entering the country illegally from Mexico.
We decided to come back the next day. To our pleasant surprise we were able to drive our rental car out on the sand of the beach. We found a place to park. We went in the water which is warm, and collected seashells. We did not see any facilities such as bathrooms. Still, a very pleasant location, particularly right next to an actual space station.
