Woodrow Wilson - from his birth through his Presidency
Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library and Museum的点评
点评:My husband and I visited the Wilson Library and Museum as we traveled across Virginia on a trip through history. You start in the gift shop, where you can purchase your ticket, then walk to the museum to start the tour. The museum is full of artifacts and educational displays covering every aspect of Wilson's life, including WWI and his goals for the League of Nations. You won't want to miss the WWI battle trench experience in the basement. The home itself is furnished with items from the period, including a few from the Wilson family. Wilson only lived here for the first 18 months of his life, but it's very special to see the actual birthplace of a President - and his crib and baby rocking chair! Wilson did return as an adult to visit and stay the night with his wife, and the bed and a chair from that time are also in the home. The tour is guided with a knowledgeable docent, taking you through the family living areas and work areas. Be advised: You will be walking between the parking lot and 3 different buildings, on brick garden paths in back yard gardens. These are set in a hill, and there is no elevator in the historic family home.
