Very disappointing afternoon tea and service!

点评：What a underwhelming , disappointing surprise afternoon tea for my big birthday finale arranged and bought my daughter.. we’ve just had awful experience at this hotel, the staff are not trained and didn’t seem to have a clue in what they were doing. No plates were given we had to ask for them, no tea/ coffee offered again we had to ask them the tea arrive in a cup with the tea bag inside no teapot, no milk, no sugar again we had to ask for these, no top up was offered either. The waitress started clearing away while we were still eating, we hadn’t even started on the sweet items, we had to say we’re still eating and at least she did apologise. The festive afternoon tea was poor choice sandwiches of pesto, egg, cheese?? The cakes were just a tiny square of Christmas cake and mini mince pie, a meringue and 2 chocolates I can’t believe it was £47 ( including 20% off for Black Friday offer) we left the chocolate, mince pie and meringue to take home for my grandson which they put 4 minuscule items in a huge pizza box? How unprofessional and embarrassing .. the lady behind the bar was fiddling with the electronic blinds trying to lower them at only 3pm while it was pleasantly still light and knocked everything off the window sill into our laps including 4 glasses, candles and mini Christmas trees.. thank goodness my daughter caught the wine glasses before they all smashed.. no apology just a remark from another member of staff about technology, no actually it’s incompetent staff! Then when we tried to pay with the pre bought voucher which the hotel had emailed to my daughter the receptionist had no idea how to redeem it and we waited half an hour for her to figure this out with the help from my daughter. I just can’t believe how unprofessional and incompetent the staff are and low standard of food.. also you shouldn’t be promoting festive afternoon tea on your Instagram page showing pouring tea from a teapot and a festive bow on the cake stand as there was none of this.. it was like an episode of faulty towers.. the only good thing we were laughing so much at the whole fiasco!
