点评：My two friends and I visited Haworth after many years of planning. I booked a guided walk with Johnnie Briggs. Our day with him and his colleague Stuart was most enjoyable. Johnnie led us through the town while Stuart guided us on the moors. Johnnie, a mine of local history and a Bronte expert, led us through the town entertaining us with tales of Haworth's past from its mean back streets to its hey day as an international trading route. Johnnie's well informed and deeply psychological take on life on the Bronte family and on life in the parsonage prepared us well for our visit. We visited the parsonage, the town, the cemetery and the old post office. Later in the afternoon, we were collected by Stuart and we walked up the moors to Top Withens which is thought to be the inspiration for Wuthering Heights. Stuart was equally impressive informing us not just about the literary heritage of the area but also about nature and environment and the ongoing task of preserving the moors. Stuart also brought us to Ponden Hall. All in all, we were more than happy with our experience and would certainly recommend it to those who wish to enjoy the richness of a place that is so beautiful and historic.
