点评:The one thing we absolutely loved about this place was Atalaya Castle. We came across it driving around the state park and stopped to see what it was, and was so surprised. You pay $8pp entry into the park then this place is an additional $2pp that you pay at the castle itself which seems sort of odd since it's within the state park, but its the best thing this park has to offer! Worth the entry fee. Its the former winter home of Archer and Anne Hyatt Huntington and the house is so interesting to walk around in.
We saw there was a beach, but didn't go over to check it out, although the parking lot is shared with Atalaya. Im sure there is a lot to this place, but we weren't impressed other than the Atalaya Castle. There are a couple little pier type things to walk out on and see wildlife, didn't see a single animal.
Anyhow, if you go, check out the Atalaya Castle and then head over to the Brookgreen gardens to see Anne Hyatt Huntingtons sculptures. That place is AMAZING.
We went in the early-ish afternoon on a Friday and got in , but when we passed this place even earlier the following day there were signs saying it was closed because they were full, so maybe go early on weekends?
