点评:I was pretty nervous about hiking Mount Greylock because most of the trails are described as moderate to strenuous, which sounds suspiciously like “good luck and bring a will.” After some research, I found one of the easier routes, and I’m so glad I did.
The hike was absolutely gorgeous. Once we connected with the Appalachian Trail, the scenery was even better than I expected. The views, the forest, and the overall experience made every step worth it.
It was a rainy day, which probably scared off most of the crowds. We only saw about five other people the entire time and had the Veterans War Memorial completely to ourselves. It felt like we had the whole mountain reserved for a private event.
As someone who spent the week worrying that I might become part of the mountain’s ecosystem, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I survived, enjoyed myself, and only complained about my knees a normal amount.
Highly recommend for anyone who wants a beautiful hike without needing to audition for a survival show.
