点评："Cathédrale-Primatiale Saint-André de Bordeaux" (Primatial Cathedral of St Andrew of Bordeaux) is part of the UNESCO world heritage site "Routes of Santiago de Compostela in France".
The first Carolingian church was mentioned in 814 AD, and it was replaced by a Romanesque church in the 11th-12th centuries, until at the beginning of the 14th century it was decided to continue building the cathedral in the Gothic style.
In the 16th century, Renaissance decorative elements were added to the Gothic structure, and in 1787 a fire partially damaged the church. During the French Revolution the church was transformed into a storage barn and the nave was used for political meetings.
Renovations and reconstructions were performed during the 19th century, and during the 20th century more renovations were performed.
