The Music Box Theater的点评
点评：So picture yourself in a darkened theater with a 5-person ensemble doing an amazing rendition of “Good Vibrations” with skilled musicians accompanying from the side of the stage. The song comes to that complete halt…it’s silent…and suddenly and with wild abandon the song goes full force again. That’s how the performance began at Music Box Theater today, and it was handled flawlessly. It was the harbinger of a fabulous show, and fabulous it was.
“Feeling Groovy” is in its 10th summer production at The Music Box, and it includes songs from the 60’s and 70’s, my golden years. I could sing the lyrics with almost all the songs, including “If I Had a Hammer” by Peter, Paul, and Mary. Who knew?
I was going to list the songs and add my photos, but I have decided to add their official video below instead. The show read like a “Who’s Who” of my favorite hits from those years. From Petula Clark to Joe Cocker to Jefferson Airplane and so many others…and all were performed masterfully with the help of incredibly talented instrumentalists. The camraderie between musicians and singers all adds to the warmth and fun.
Seriously, you don’t want to miss this show. If you haven’t had the opportunity to experience the professionalism, the amazing talent, the sheer joy that is The Music Box Theater, you need to treat yourself. You won’t be sorry!
