Visiting Chateau de Chenonceau
舍农索城堡的点评
点评：I visited Chateau de Chenonceau on October 19, 2025. This particular chateau was probably the one I liked the most out of all those that I visited during this trip. Its fundament is built so that it looks like it’s floating on the river. Similarly to Chateau de Chambord, the colors are absolutely neutral, giving it a very still and smooth look. The structure of the towers and the construction of it add detail and depth to the exterior yet keep its chill appearance. There was also a beautiful garden surrounding the chateau. The chateau is known to be “the women’s place” where every queen and mistress had her own room, which is demonstrated by the smooth and pleasant exterior design. Inside, the rooms are also very sophisticated and comfortable, in my opinion, where every woman, as mentioned before, had her own room and each one was equally appreciated by Thomas Bohier who built it.
I personally found this place comforting and satisfying. Even though it wasn’t as massive and colossal as Chateau de Chambord, it was still very elegant and beautiful. Also it wasn’t as tiring to explore it as it was the others. While exploring this chateau, I was able to prove myself wrong about the average height of humans back then. Humans actually weren’t that much shorter than we are today; the beds
are small because people would stack big pillows and sleep in an almost half-sitting position - therefore not needing a long bed. The reason why they slept that way was because they would have to accept visits at any time, so they had to look put together
