点评:I walked the Sandstone Trail (Whitchurch-Frodsham direction) in early July this year. It took me 15 hours, including rest breaks. It was dry on the day due to a recent heatwave. Definitely wear stout walking boots & anti blister socks, and take an adjustable walking stick, poly cotton zip off trousers, polyester top, fleece, hat, headtorch, magnetic iPhone battery, rucksack, water bladder, water bottles, sandwiches, fruit, sunscreen, plasters, and toilet paper. I stopped at the Beeston Castle cafe (outside the grounds with picnic seating) for hot food & a latte and on request they kindly refilled my water bladder & bottles. I also asked at the Beeston Castle main entrance and they allowed me to use their toilet facilities. Directional signage along the route is sporadic and I used Google Maps (particularly in Delamere Forest where signage is very limited). Large sections of the walk suffer from overgrown vegetation (particularly nettles) so look out for dock leaves! I recommend starting at first light and pace yourself until Beeston Castle. There are train stations at Whitchurch and Frodsham.
