The Links at Gettysburg的点评
点评：Our experience yesterday was mixed.
The good:
- This course is such a gem. At least 4 or 5 holes are truly outstanding.
- We played as a 2-some, wire to wire, without running into a group in front of us. Hmm.
- Greens are clearly a focus, and most were in OK shape and not dried out like we thought they might be. Rolled perty good!
- Tee boxes were fine.
- Greens fees were reasonable.
The not-so-good:
- Some sections of greens were bad. Ball marks were everywhere on some holes.
- Fairways had some issues, big time.
- Sand was just OK, very rocky and poor on some holes.
- Retaining walls around ponds were leaning bad and won't last for long.
- Swapping out the 18th hole was a big bummer. Now, the finishing hole is a bore.
- Clubhouse, restaurant and bar a ghost town. No social vibe whatsoever.
I guess you just don't get enough traffic to reinvest those funds into course management. Sad that it's not even close to the way it was years ago.
