点评:Visited the Mound House on a Friday afternoon- It wasn’t busy. It is a very small museum. You get the history of when the house was built and it’s original owners, all about the Calusa tribe and the shell mounds they built. The downstairs area is more about the owners of the house and it has a small gift shop. It has a small upstairs area that is focused on the Calusa and artifacts they have found in the area. I saw pictures online before we went about an area where you can go downstairs and see the actual shell mound walls, but unfortunately we could never actually figure out where that area was. Which was actually the main reason we went, so that was a little disappointing. The outside area has a small boardwalk to walk out and see the canal. Overall, it was a neat place, but very small. I’m not sure it’s quite worth what they are charging unless you are really interested in the history of the mound house. If you are taking young children, they will most certainly be bored.
