点评:Our day at Kingarrock started with Dave telling us all about the history of the 9 hole course and the grounds as laid out by the Sharp family. Then we got the canvas bag of five 100 year old clubs (driver, iron, maschie, niblick, putter; plus balls and tees) and he took us out to the first of the 9 holes and explained how to play the course. The hickory shafted clubs are in fantastic shape - they are oiled and cared for very well; and using them really gives you an appreciation for the old time players. It was a beautiful sunny day, the black Hebridean sheep were roaming the course, the setting is so picturesque with fields and the Sharp mansion in view. After finishing, Dave greeted us and took us up to the cottage for some ginger beer and shortbread cookies, and more history of the area. We took our time and got the full experience and it was one of the highlights of our Scottish trip. There are other things to do at the Sharp mansion, like hiking or touring the house and grounds. It is owned by The Scottish National Trust and is a well cared for gem.
