Well worth the visit!
卡内基艺术博物馆的点评
点评：I loved this museum and spent quite a bit of time there! It's not as huge as the Metropolitan or the Louvre Museums by any means but definitely worth spending a good chunk of a day there. I had to press one of the security guards to uncover where the architectural room listed on the map was, and I'm very glad I did because it is nothing short of incredible. (See attached photo.) Other than that, everything was pretty well labeled and laid out.
There are quite a few artistic gems there including Cezanne, Monet's Water Lilies, and a number of fine Italian Renaissance paintings plus And number of or modern artists like de Kooning, Pollock, and an amazing Joan Mitchell painting. There are also some notable European and American Impressionists like Childe Hassam and Pissarro and even major French sculptors like Dalou. I only took issue with the fact that one of the placards about Impressionists failed to mention Berthe Morisot as a major Impressionist, which she was. I especially enjoyed the exhibition by lesser-known Northern European artists that were so expressive and visceral! Another highlight was the fun architectural displays in the Heinz Galleries.
The staff were especially welcoming, and I even struck up a nice conversation with a friendly guard. That makes such a pleasant difference when you're traveling alone!
