Best place for pumpkin picking with kids
Wheelock Hall Farm的点评
点评：We had our first visit to Wheelock Hall Farm on a quiet day midweek (before half term) and we had a brilliant time.
We came mainly to go pumpkin picking and we weren't disappointed. They had a large variety and they were reasonably priced. As the pumpkins weren't grown in the picking patch it was laid out in a fun way, with lots of photo opportunities. There was lots of straw underfoot too so we didn't get muddy.
We had lunch in the cafe, the food was delicious and reasonably priced. It didn't take too long to arrive but the cafe was a little noisy so we ate outside.
We must have spent at least 3 hours on all the playgrounds and the soft play with our 8 year old, who absolutely loved it here. It was £24 for two parents, two grandparents and a child, which was a little costly since only one of us was playing but it gave us access to the pumpkin patch too. The play areas were all very clean and in good condition, though a regular litter pick may help to keep them looking tidy, as some people don't seem to be very good at picking up after themselves.
We enjoyed seeing all the animals - donkeys, rabbits, ponies, chickens, pigs and goats (who were especially personable) and they all looked happy and well cared for.
The shop was like a TARDIS and seemed to go on forever, we found lots of lovely gifts and food.
We'd like to make a special mention to Lennox who greeted us when we arrived, he took the time to let us know where everything was, weighed our pumpkins for us and was just a friendly and welcoming face all day.
We'll definitely be coming again, though probably not in the holidays or at the weekend because I can imagine our experience may not be the same when it's really busy.
