点评：Ujung Water Palace is a former palace in Karangasem Regency, Bali. Now, this palace is also known as Ujung Park or Taman Soekasada Ujung. Reaching here requires 2.5 hr driving from the airport (Kuta). It is advisable to set up a basecamp in Manggis, Candidasa area to explore the eastern/northern parts of Bali.
It is built by the last king of Karangasem (he also built Tirta Gangga), and on a clear day, if you climb the stairs to the top, you will have clear view of the Strait of Lombok. There is a fee (local / international) upon entering the palace.
The main building is undergoing some renovation, but it houses pictures of the last king and is intended to be a museum with a dedicated holy room, which only several people could enter. The palace is beautiful and well maintained, but watch your steps as you can trip by the uneven walking path.
I wished there was more information to provide context or a guide from the park itself to help give us more background information. All in all it is a beautiful and another jewel of eastern Bali and should be featured more.
